TED | Technology, Entertainment, Design is a good site to visit to watch and hear some great ideas for our future. The site hosts a number of videos of well known and respected speakers (experts in their fields), on a variety of topics: some serious, some fun, and all very awe inspiring.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
I recently caught a series on TV on Super string theory - or the theory of everything in the universe. The series is called The Elegant Universe. It is shown by NOVA, an online science site with several video programmes.
Afterworld is coming to Astro. Did a bit of googling and discovered what seems to be quite an interesting sci-fi series. So far it has been broadcasted in short 3 minute webisodes on various community sites such as YouTube etc. From what i have seen on YouTube, i can't wait to follow the series in the comfort of my armchair. :)
This is how Afterworld, the TV Series is mentioned on Wikipedia:
As american audience start watching season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, one wonders whether the sci-fi series will gain wider popularity seldom achieved by sci-fi series.

'Galactica' transcending sci-fi
By John Coffren
Baltimore Sun"Battlestar Galactica" may be headed where no space opera has gone before, rocketing through the glass ceiling to be recognized as (gasp!) drama.
Like a handful of science fiction works - think Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" or George Orwell's "1984" - the reworking of the campy 1978-79 television series, which begins its third season at 9 tonight on the Sci-Fi Channel, may transcend its genre.

Many of you know that I am a TV series freak. One of the series which I follow is ABC's Lost which chronicles the story of the survivors of Oceanic Flit 815. Each of these survivors have dark secrets which seems to indicate that they were all brought to the island for a certain reason. What that reason is (or are) is subject to a lot of speculation and mystery. For those of you who would like to discuss or understand more about the mysteries in Lost, then you can visit the Lost Theories website.
